We Have Been Busy

Seems like ages since I last posted, but we have been busy decorating.  We started doing this room months ago, then had a break from it, it's been a long hard slog but I think it's been worth it.

When we removed the old window we found a gap underneath it, the rain had been blowing under and into the wall, when we took the old wall boards off the plaster just fell off the wall.....we were not happy bunnies...

We then removed the old panelling and replaced with insulated panels to help keep the heat in, and to cover the wall where the old fire place had been removed - it had been plastered up - badly!!

After all the hard work we now have.....

We had to cover the old hearth as there was nothing we could do to rescue it. so from this...

The doors had plain glass finger plates on and I was going to throw them away and buy new ones, then I decided to try putting fabric behind to see how they looked - pretty good I think and saved us some money.

We have to walk through this room to get to our bedroom, this is found very often in French houses, we can't use it as a bedroom so it is now our dressing room.....posh or what LOL.

Surprise Surprise

I haven't had any post for a week, one whole week without anything, not even a bill, but today I got not one, but TWO parcels.

The first one was from Samelia's Mum

I won in her giveaway - yeah fabric.... more to add to my stash, thank you Anorina.

The second parcel was from Mariliz, I had commented that I had never heard of "Peeps" before so look what she sent me, not just one pack but THREE!!   and all wrapped up in a lovely FQ, thank you so much Mariliz that was really kind of you - yum yum!!!

Mmmm wonder what the Postman will bring tomorrow.......

Patisserie.....

Remember this

This is a picture of part of my birthday parcel from my lovely friend Diane from Sideroad Stitcher 

 see that little charm pack of Patisserie, well here is what I made with it.

This little quilt is going to be a wall hanging, the pattern is called Fiona and it's from the book 3 Times the Charm by Me & My Sister Designs.  

One of the things I love is one of the squares is part of an old map of France and shows Limousin where I live!!!!

How good is that!
